"Azerfloat" OJSC, located in the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park, is the first local plant in Azerbaijan to produce thermoformed glass. Operating since 2020, the facility manufactures 300 tons of transpicuous and tinted flat glass daily. The glass sheets vary in size (3210 x 6000 mm) and thickness (between 2 to 12 mm). Of the total production, 70% is exported, while 30% is sold on the domestic market.

The plant is equipped with technologies from Germany’s “HORN Glass”, Finland’s “Lahti Glass”, and Italy’s “Bottero” companies, and currently employs 246 people.

In cooperation with the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund, the plant’s expansion project envisions the local processing of quartz sand and the implementation of glass lamination and tempering processes. As a result of the project, 117 new jobs will be created, and the products will be exported to Turkiye and European markets in addition to Azerbaijan.

The main goals of the project are to reduce import dependency, localize production, and enhance the competitiveness of domestic products. This initiative will strengthen Azerbaijan's industrial capacity and make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of the non-oil sector.
