One such project is BALKHOORMA, a dried fruit processing facility located in the Balakan region of Azerbaijan, where AIC made an investment in 2022.

Since 2016, Balkhoorma has been operating as a leading dried fruit processing facility. The company proudly capitalizes on Azerbaijan’s status as one of the world’s top persimmon producers, specializing in premium dried persimmons. Using advanced drying technologies, Balkhoorma ensures that the fruits retain their rich nutritional value and natural taste, offering consumers a healthy and high-quality product.

Over the years, Balkhoorma has expanded its product assortment beyond persimmons to include other locally grown fruits such as apples, strawberries, and plums. This diversification not only meets the growing demands of international markets but also supports local agriculture by reducing food waste and promoting sustainable farming practices.

Today, Balkhoorma employs nearly 300 people from the Balakan-Zaqatala region, playing a vital role in the local economy. The company actively creates job opportunities for young people, fostering skills development and contributing to the social and economic growth of the region.
