Highlighting the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries this year, Special Representative for Strategic Projects Ana Birchall expressed that the country is interested in promoting bilateral relations and that broadening economic ties will strengthen partnerships in other areas.

At the meeting, which was also attended by Rovshan Najaf, First Vice President and Acting President of SOCAR, the sides discussed the strengthening of trade and economic cooperation, including in the energy sector, and other issues of mutual interest.

At the end, a document was signed to extend the term of the Memorandum of Understanding concluded between SOCAR Azerbaijan and Romanian Transgaz in July 2016 for another 6 years.
